I was so nervous before dress shopping, but after visiting Fern at the brides closet I realized what a breeze it was. Fern was so kind and inclusive. When I arrived they had a dress in store that I had sent them, I tried it on and instantly fell in love, of course I had to try a few more on for fun but ended up choosing the first dress. Fern altered it and added floral pieces and it was PERFECT.

The Brides Closet came to my rescue when I didn’t have a dress for a wedding. Long story short. My dress that I originally purchased for a friend’s wedding didn’t work out. I called the brides closet 3 hours before a wedding saying that I had a bit of an emergency, and needed a formal wedding guest dress. They were able to get me in right away and I walked out with a dress right away. The lady even added an extra inch to the dress so it would fit better. The customer service was amazing. I’ll definitely be using them in the future and can’t wait to try on wedding dresses from them when it’s my turn!! Thanks again for all your help on Saturday!!

I visited Fern in December and it was a fabulous experience. Ahead of the visit, she asked me to send a few pictures of styles that interested me. When I got there, she had pulled some dresses to the side for me based on the pictures. As I tried on each dress, Fern and her assistant (I don’t remember her name I’m sorry but she was lovely too) helped me decide what I liked and didn’t like about each dress, and then pulled more dresses based on those likes!
She has a great selection of dresses to try on and I never felt like there wasn’t enough selection for me.
We ended up finding a dress that was nothing like the pictures but isn’t that almost always how it goes?!
We were also able to pick a veil with her and her eye for matching and making things work is amazing. She knew right away what veil she had that would work best with my dress.
I’m so glad I found my dress here.
Fern is also able to hem and make alterations to dresses which was really helpful throughout the whole process. I felt really safe leaving my dress with her while it was waiting to be hemmed.
Fern made this a smooth process for me 🤍

I can’t even begin to explain how incredible the owner at The Bride's Closet is.
I work with Chinook Business Advisory, and a colleague and I travelled up to Nanaimo for the Business Excellence awards. It was a black tie event and I had ordered gala gown from Lulus. As soon as I got up to Nanaimo, we stopped at the mall to quickly change before hitting the conference centre. I barely even touched the zipper on my dress and it popped off, rendering me dressless. I was mortified! I was going up to a black tie event for work and I was in mom jeans and flip flops.
I called 3 bridal shops, all of which were closed. When I called The Bride's Closet, she said she had just left. I begged her to turn around and see if she could fix my zipper, and the kind soul she is, she did.
When I busted in the door and begged for her help (in her absolutely beautiful shop located in a victorian heritage house) she took a look at it. Moments later, she says “why don’t I loan you a dress instead” because she determined she wouldn’t be able to fix it in time for the event that I was already 20 minutes late for.
The first dress she grabbed was a stunning red dress that fit perfectly. She cut the tags off and told me to take it. I nearly broke into tears at the sheer kindness of her, and I'm kicking myself desperately for not getting her name. I am making a note to call her as soon as they open.
Not only did she hand me a stunning dress to wear, she didn’t charge me a dime. When I asked her how to get the dress back to her, she told to KEEP IT. (I will be mailing it back or finding a way to repay her, don't worry!!)
Its people like this that change the world every day with their overwhelming kindness. I talked about her and The Bride’s Closet all night, and it sure was a story to tell. I’d also like to add that everyone I spoke to was OBSESSED with the stunning dress I was wearing. It was incredibly beautiful, and such high quality! I felt like the star of the show.

Fern was awesome, I had a great experience. I wound up buying the first dress she pulled for me to try on, she narrowed in on what I wanted so fast.
I like that the shop is set up so you can browse options on the floor, rather than relying on someone to grab them all from a supply room and not being able to see the dresses on the racks.
It's a really comfortable environment, and I liked the quiet, cozy atmosphere.
I felt like Fern also did a great job of pulling the most affordable options first, which I really appreciated, as some stores were putting me in dresses way above my budget right off the bat.

I really loved this experience! Fern was excellent. As a bridal size 16 I was impressed with the selection of dresses and styles she had in my size. She made me and my family feel comfortable, and her professionalism and personal touch was impeccable. Fern pulled the most amazing dresses for me to try that I would not have selected for myself. Fern is absolutely amazing. Very accommodating, and has a knack for figuring out your style even if you don't know it yourself. I ended up with a dress I never would have chose for myself but the minute I tried it on, I knew it was THE dress for me.
